Local Authority Information

Local Authorities are currently the largest providers of recreational and developmental gymnastics with over 30,000 children participating annually in these programmes.  More than twenty local authorities and leisure trusts are affiliated to Scottish gymnastics and have identified gymnastics as a priority sport.

Scottish Gymnastics held a very successful Gymnastics Development Officer's forum on 6th October 2011 at our offices in Airthrey Castle, Stirling University. Open to any specialised or generic development officer or Active Schools Co-ordinator with an interest in gymnastics, the event was very well attended and many significant issues were raised. Please contact tony@scottishgymnastics.org for details of the 2012 event.

The SGA development team are available to provide guidance to local authorities on their development plans, workforce development needs, facility development and compliance issues.
