Step Instructor
Overview 
Becoming a Step Instructor is a natural progression for current Exercise to Music Instructors.
Prerequisits
All applicants must currently hold a Level 2 Exercise to Music Qualification.
Content
• How to plan, teach and evaluate a safe and effective step exercise to music session
• Appropriate health and safety considerations
• Step exercise to music training approaches and techniques
• Step class structure
Format & Assessment
This course is Tutor led and delivered on a week on - week off basis. You will be provided with worksheets and asked to complete homework tasks in between weekends and before your assessment.
You will be practically assessed for this course delivering a Step exercise session. Please note that you will be required to bring 2 clients to take part in your assessment session.
Progression Routes
Add to your knowledge at Level 2 collecting one of our other Level 2 qualifications on offer (please see the drop down menu options).

Please Note:
Instructors should give guidance to encourage special population clients* to take part in the session whilst following key safety guidelines. Instructors should always discourage clients from anything deemed to be potentially hazardous to enable them to take part in the session.
*Specialist population clients include:
• 14-16 year old people
• Disabled people
• Older people (50+)
• Ante and postnatal women
Please note that in order to run classes specifically for these specialist population groups you must hold the relevant Level 2 qualification for the specific group.
