Position: Vice President
Speciality Areas:
Scottish Gymnastics

I apply for the role of Vice President as I believe my extensive background within the sport, both as a competitor and coach, together with the experience gained in my professional career provide me with the necessary abilities to help deliver real and necessary change.

During my sixteen years as a competitive gymnast, I gained first-hand knowledge of competing at the highest levels having been the Scottish National Trampoline Champion for ten consecutive years, consistently placing top eight at British Championships. I have represented Scotland, was the first Scottish male selected to the British Squad and have competed all over the World, including contesting two World Championships.

My commitment to the sport continues in my capacity as the Head Coach of my club. This position gives me a sound understanding of sporting pathways, from grass roots through to elite performance. Qualified as a High Performance Coach, the youngest ever to do so, I have gained valuable experience overseeing a substantial club expansion plan. Expanding to a second site has lead to the development of key strategic partnerships working with both the local authority and in partnership with other stakeholders from a variety of gymnastics disciplines.

A graduate in Law with Honours, I am currently employed by A G Barr as a Regional Business Development Manager. This is an expansive role where responsibilities include the development of multi-million pounds value accounts, recruitment, training, business development, budget management and marketing. Exposed to a world class training in negotiation, I have developed extensive interpersonal skills.

Additionally, I gained experience working closely with Shona Robison, Commonwealth Games Minister.

I believe I can bring extensive knowledge, a passion for our sport, fresh ideas and great enthusiasm to the future development of our Association and look to making a positive contribution during this rebuilding phase.
