Schools Gymfest 2010
Schools Gymfest 2010 took place on Saturday 15th May at Bells Sports Centre in Perth and it was even bigger and better than ever!
Around 450 gymnasts ranging from the youngest pupils in primary 1 to senior pupils in S6 took to the floor to perform a wide variety of group routines. With soundtracks from the hit TV show 'Glee' to a performance with a Ghostbusters theme, Schools Gymfest 2010 had it all! And it wasn't just the gymnasts who put in a great performance, a special guest also took to the floor this year. Marvin the Monkey, Scottish schools gymnastics very own mascot, made his first ever live appearance at a schools event. As you can see from the pictures below, he had just as much fun as the gymnasts!!
A special thanks must also go to Jim Gourlay, 'compère extraordinaire', who gives up his time to present (and perform a few tumbles!) at Schools Gymfest.
