Gymfest is an annual gymnastics display event run by Scottish Gymnastics. It is a non-competitive, professionally run display festival which aims to promote gymnastics for all and encompasses the sheer enjoyment and appreciation of the sport that so many people have. Everyone is invited to enter GymFest from the beginner to the advanced gymnast. We focus on ensuring that all performers have the opportunity to display their talents to their family, friends and other gymnasts in a stress-free and enjoyable setting.
The Magnum Centre Irvine is the current home to Gymfest and each year approximately 1500 gymnasts, 300 coaches, 50 volunteers and 3000 spectators literally invade the Magnum Centre over the first bank holiday in May, to take part in what has become the UK’s premier gymnastics display festival. The festival is getting bigger and better each year and we would encourage everyone to come along and watch the spectacular performances.
Gymfest has become tremendously popular with very high demand for the limited number of places. To offer an alternative opportunity for teams who may not have been able to perform at Gymfest Irvine, Gymfest Perth was founded. Held in Bell's Sports Centre, Gymfest Perth is now another major fixture with over 30 teams taking part along with regular guests from Greece!
DATES FOR THE DIARY!
Gymfest Perth 2014 - Sunday 23rd November
Gymfest 2015 - Friday 1st-Sunday 3rd May
Gymfest 2014 was held on 2nd, 3rd and 4th May and showed once again the depth and diversity of talent within our sport. We welcomed both old friends and new faces alike to the weekend, as performances from 64 teams entertained the 3000 strong crowds across 5 sessions.
Gymfest Perth 2013 was held on the 17th November 2013 and was an incredible experience for all attending. A new record of 1000 tickets were sold for the event - more than 200 up on 2012. Our Greek guests Olympiada took part once more and were very warmly received. New lighting made the performance area more dramatic and created an even better atmosphere than before. With 35 teams taking part - the highest ever thanks to many Junior teams from our dedicated clubs - the event has reached it's potential to provide an exciting and high quality performance opportunity to gymnastics clubs across Scotland.
