GymFest

GymFest is an annual gymnastics display event run by Scottish Gymnastics. It is a non-competitive, professionally run display festival which aims to promote gymnastics for all and encompasses the sheer enjoyment and appreciation of the sport that so many people have. Everyone is invited to enter GymFest from the beginner to the advanced gymnast. We focus on ensuring that all performers have the opportunity to display their talents to their family, friends and other gymnasts in a stress-free and enjoyable setting.
The Magnum Centre Irvine is the current home to GymFest and each year approximately 1500 gymnasts, 200 coaches, 50 volunteers and 4000 spectators literally invade the Magnum Centre over the first bank holiday in May, to take part in what has become the UK’s premier gymnastics display festival. The festival is getting bigger and better each year and we would encourage everyone to come along and watch the spectacular performances.
GymFest has become tremendously popular with very high demand for the limited number of places. To offer an alternative opportunity for teams who may not have been able to perform at GymFest Irvine, GymFest Perth was founded. Held in Bell's Sports Centre, GymFest Perth is now another major fixture with over 30 teams taking part along with regular guests from Greece!
GymFest Perth 2012 is scheduled for 4th November 2012 and promises to be bigger and better than ever. Final Registration forms will be available from 25th July.
GymFest 2012 showed once again the depth and diversity of talent within our sport. With Freestyle gymnastics making it's first appearance courtesy of Irvine Bay's own team and the Schools Workshop making a welcome return the Friday gala was stocked with talent. Performing across the weekend were some extremely exciting teams from across the UK including Epping GC and Cobra from England, Mid-Sutton from Wales and Scotland's own Acrobay and Spartans, British Acrobatic silver medallists and British Team Gym gold medallists respectively. The dedicated team of volunteers brought their enthusiasm and spirit to the entire event and made it a really enjoyable spectacle.
GymFest 2013 is planned for the 3rd, 4th and 5th May 2013 again returning to the Magnum. Initial Registration Forms available from 29th August 2012.
GymFest North 2013 is the latest addition to the calendar. Scheduled for 3rd March 2013 and to be held at the Aberdeen Sports Village. Scottish Gymnastics are very proud to launch another GymFest to make this kind of event more accessible for clubs in the North region. Initial Registration Forms are available from 15th August 2012.
