Member Services Insurance Guide

Scottish Gymnastics and Fitness Scotland have put in place Liability Insurances which meet the needs of not only the governing body but also any affiliated Club, Coach or Member. The Liability policies summarised below automatically protects affiliated Clubs for any Scottish Gymnastics approved activity relating to Gymnastics (which includes Trampolining, Cheerleading and Pre-school) providing ALL club members are affiliated to the Association and working in a Scottish Gymnastics recognised environment.

There are some changes that Central Insurance Group have negotiated to the benefit of all SGA affiliated members. These are:

Personal Accident: Funeral expenses limit increased to £5,000
Personal Effects limit increased to £250
Travel Policy: Hijack, Kidnap and Ransom limit increased to £25,000
Political & Natural disaster evacuation added - limit £15,000

Membership Categories

Level 2 Coach & Above (£22): Membership category is only available to coaches who have passed the relevant exam(s) to coach at this level or above. 
 
Level 1 - Assistant Coach (£17): Membership is available to all qualified assistant coaches (or undergoing qualification) on the understanding that they are directly supervised by accredited coaches and do not undertake any class on their own.

National/Brevet Judge (£17): Membership category is only available to practising judges who have passed the relevant exam(s) at this level.
 
Club/Regional Judge (£17): Membership category is only available to practising judges who have passed the relevant exam(s) at this level.

Child Protection Officer/Club Helper (£13): Membership is available to Club Helpers/CPC who do not coach / judge but support the general functions of the running of a club. All registered Helpers automatically receive Personal Accident insurance on joining SGA.

Club Officer (Free): Membership is only available to club committee members who carry out administrative roles outwith the club itself.

Competitive Gymnast (£34): Membership is available to gymnasts/trampolinists who train within a club at a competitive level. It entitles you to compete in any competition arranged within or outside of the Scottish Gymnastics Association.

Recreational Gymnast (£17): Membership is available to gymnasts/trampolinists that take part at beginner or recreational level. It also entitles you to compete in Beginner competitions organised by SGA.
All registered Recreational Gymnasts/Trampolinist automatically receive Personal Accident insurance on joining SGA.

Temporary Membership - 13 weeks (£9): Membership is designed solely for the first time gymnast/trampolinist taking part in club activities. This category does not cover recreational gymnasts/trampolinists taking part in beginner competitions. Gymnasts/Trampolinists taking part in beginner competitions must affiliate as FULL recreational members.
Membership is for 13 weeks, an upgrade fee will be charged for full recreational membership when the temporary membership expires.
All registered Temporary members automatically receive Personal Accident insurance on joining SGA.

Individual Full Member (£50): This level of membership is open to people who fall into the following categories and are aged 18 years & above, eg. Friends of SGA, Judges or Coaches who wish to contribute an additional payment to support the objectives of the Association.
Full Individual membership entitles you to all benefits appropriate to your specific category ie coaching/judging level as identified above.
Additional benefits apply as identified in the SGA Articles of Association, which includes a vote at the AGM, Annual Report etc.

Non-Club Affiliate - Price as per specific category: This is open to all people who are not affiliated through a Scottish Club.  Benefits are the same as those of specific category/type.  Non-Club Affiliation are not entitled to a vote at the SGA AGM.
