Job Description

Purpose of the Job

To assist with the delivery of classes within the gymnastics programme.

Coaching

  • Delivering a coached activity in Gymnastics as an assistant coach.
  • Ensuring that the standard of instruction is pitched at the correct level for the participants.
  • Ensuring that the standard of instruction is maintained at a high level
  • Ensuring that the class design is such that it develops individual skills and abilities according to participants own aspirations and abilities.
  • To have good coaching practice and professionalism while following the coaching guidance of Scottish Gymnastics/British Gymnastics.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants during the activity by following appropriate coaching guidance.
  • Continuously assess participants as required through the framework.
  • To assist in the planning and delivery of high-quality coaching sessions within enjoyleisure facilities.
  • Ensuring the coach maintains their own levels of skills, competencies and qualifications to meet the above key tasks and enjoyleisure’s guidelines.

Requirements for this Role

Relevant Qualifications

  • Essential: RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
    Desirable: ASA or SSTQ Swim Teacher Level 1 or 2, Coaching qualification exercise to music and/or relevant sport, Level 1 qualification in General Gymnastics, HNC/HND/SVQ Level
  • 3 in a sport, exercise or facility operations discipline, Pool Plant Certificate, First Aid at Work.
