City of Glasgow Gymnasts Chosen To Represent Great Britain
Three City of Glasgow Gymnasts have been selected to represent GB at the Special Olympics European Games in Antwerp in September. This multi sports large scale event will include 58 countries, 2000 athletes and 1000 coaches.
All three were selected from their performances at the Special Olympics National Games in Bath 2013.
They train four times a week at the City of Glasgow Gymnastics Club and have numerous training weekends with the GB team both in Runcorn and in Jersey in August. All three benefit from being part of the British Gymnastics Disabilities Performance Squads who train throughout the year (most recently at Inverclyde in Feb). They will also be part of an FIG International Symposium to promote Disability Gymnastics at Lilleshall at the end of May where they will perform demonstration routines to delegates from at least 11 countries.
