Subsidy

Scottish Gymnastics and sportscotland recognise the importance of accessible, affordable coaching courses being available to coaches who are involved in sport and currently offer funding towards the cost of UKCC endorsed qualifications.  Scottish Gymnastics candidates can be awarded up to 40% subsidy towards UKCC Level 1 and 70% towards UKCC Level 2 coach education courses.

Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria can access funding of up to £100.00 per person for Level 1 and £364.00 per person of the Level 2 course fee.  

Please note that as of October 2016, bookings should be made through the online system and full payment must be made at the time of booking.

Level 1 Course Cost - £350 members / £450 non-members

Level 2 Course Cost - £520 members / £620 non-members

UKCC Level 1 and 2: New Approach to Funding

Coaches can apply for funding using sportscotland’s online application portal. You will first need to register your details before logging onto the system and navigating through the application form. UKCC Level 1 Funding

Am I eligible?

  • Applicants must have SG & BG Silver membership with Scottish Gymnastics
  • Applications must be submitted to sportscotland a minimum of four weeks prior to course start date.
  • Applicants must demonstrate coaching activity within six months of applying for the subsidy (minimum activity supported will be once per month or an average of 12 sessions per year)
  • The course being attended must take place in Scotland and be registered with the SQA (your course organiser can confirm this)
  • Applicants should evidence what impact this qualification will have on their school, club or community. (This should be detailed in the Applicant Support Information section of the application form)

If I am successful

• You will receive an electronic letter confirming your award.

• This can be used as reclaim part of your course fee.

• Please forward this to your course organiser who will accept it as part payment and refund part of your course fee.

UKCC Level 2 Funding

Am I eligible?

  • Applicants must have SG & BG Gold membership with Scottish Gymnastics
  • Applications must be submitted to sportscotland a minimum of four weeks prior to course start date.
  • Applicants must demonstrate coaching activity within six months of applying for the subsidy (minimum activity supported will be once per month or an average of 12 sessions per year)
  • The course being attended must take place in Scotland and be registered with the SQA (your course organiser can confirm this)
  • Applicants should evidence what impact this qualification will have on their school, club or community. (This should be detailed in the Applicant Support Information section of the application form)
  • Applicants must have attended a child protection course i.e. Safeguarding and protecting children.
  • Applicants must be a member of a club which is affiliated to Scottish Gymnastics.

ILA

ILA Scotland funding can be accessed for Scottish Gymnastics UKCC Education courses.
