Additional Events on 23 September
You also have the opportunity on the day to attend additional workshops on the day, detailed below. There is no cost to attend these and we look forward to seeing you there.
9.30am: Women’s Technical Panel will be holding their Technical Assembly and you are welcome to come along and join the discussion.
11am: We have Tony Stanger, former Scotland rugby international and most recently Head of Talent at the Scottish Institute of Sport coming along.
Have you ever wondered why some gymnasts make it and some don’t?
Would you like to do more to help them achieve their goals?
This workshop will explore understanding talent and will share the evidence behind where ability comes. Using this evidence, he will identify the key factors that drive success and show parents, coaches and gymnasts how they can work together to give everyone the best chance of reaching their potential – not only in sport but in all aspects of their life!
2pm: Following recent communications about the General Data Protection Regulation, there is the opportunity to attend a workshop to help you to better understand the regulation and how to practically apply the GDPR requirements in your club. This workshop will also be running at the end of August along with webinars you can watch to further understand the changes (further information can be found in GymNET).
10am to 4pm: The Development Team will be available throughout the day with up to 1.5 hour slots available. Subjects you can discuss include:
Governance | HR | Business Planning | Financials | Funding | Facilities | Marketing | Coach Education
9.30am to 4.45pm: Safeguarding Symposium for Safeguarding Officers. One of the workshops is to build confidence for managing difficult conversations involving safeguarding, talking to children, coaches and parents, which will be brought to life by actors Suit and Pace, performing real scenarios provided by Scottish Gymnastics and Children 1st. There may be additional places available for head coaches. If you are interested in finding out more, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please let Lara know if you are coming to the AGM and also if you would like to attend any of the additional events throughout the day by email at email@example.com.
