Scottish Gymnastics is inviting clubs to become approved teacher training centres for a new programe that will allow teachers to deliver gymnastics in Scottish primary schools.
The programme has been designed in partnership with physical education and gymnastics specialists, taking into account the needs of the national school curriculum, for the P1 - P3 school years, and the range of gymnastics experience of the children.
This programme is funded by sportscotland has already been piloted across five local authorities with positive feedback from teachers:

The programme will be delivered through gymnastics clubs in the school’s local area as we believe that our member clubs are best placed to lead on the delivery of this programme.
Clubs who are successful in their application to become an delivery centre will be able to create beneficial partnerships with local organisations, broaden their local gymnastics pathway for a potential member increase, further develop their coaches as well as receive a certificate confirming they are an approved delivery centre.
Teachers on the programme will receive a two-hour workshop focusing on the core skills of balance, travelling and flight. They will then leave with a six-week learning block of activity aligned to the Curriculum for Excellence as well as access to further resources via our online learning platform, absorb.
