CITY OF GLASGOW WIN 2018 GORDON FORSTER CHALLENGE

City Of Glasgow Gymnastics Club won the Gordon Forster Team Challenge for the third year in a row at Bell’s Sports Centre on Sunday.

The club’s A team of Cara Kennedy, Sarah McKenzie, Crystelle Lake, Sophie Macpherson, Rebecca Quinn, and Millie Redford totalled 145.503 to win the Challenge. 

They were followed by Hamilton Gymnastics Club for the second year running, whose team of Eilidh Gorrell, Phoebe Cameron, Milli De O'Hara and Kennedi Foster scored 138.271. In third place were Hayley Bell, Rosa Holm-Huxley, Hannah Blakeman, Emily Bremner, Sophie Miller and Olivia Young from Dundee Gymnastics Club 2K with 136.571.

This was the final weekend of competition for women’s artistic gymnastics, with the Level 4 team competition also taking place on Sunday. 

Lasswade Gymnastics Club won the event with a total score of 145.505 from Elise Marwick, Sarah Happs, Indie Bee, Kaylie Coleman and Hawa Keita. Second was the team of Carly Banks, Ciara Miller, Holly Girvan, Louise Joyce, Imogen Clarke and Millie May Tulloch from Meadowbank Gymnastics Club (139.403). In third place were Hamilton’s Erin Devine, Beth Fallow, Summer Gordon and Katie Dobson (138.769).

On Saturday, the Bell’s Sports Centre also saw more than 500 gymnasts compete in floor and vault.
