Scottish Gymnastics are pleased to announce the next CPD event for club leaders where delegates will learn in the subject area of delegation and succession planning at Caledonia House, Edinburgh on Wednesday 24 April.
Two experts in leadership and volunteer management will deliver the sessions on delegation. Sue Stockdale (MBA MSc) is an accomplished leadership coach with over 20 years experiences in working with top UK businesses and sport leaders. Carole Thelwall-Jones (MSc) will share her extensive knowledge and experience in leading volunteers, Carole spent ten years doubling the Rugby Football Union’s volunteer pool to over 60,000.
During the event delegates will learn to:
- Understand what delegation means and why it’s important in their role
- Identify how to overcome obstacles to delegating effectively
- Be more aware of the link between delegation and motivation of volunteers
- Understand the principles of succession planning
- Learn some processes that will enable succession planning to be put into practice
- Set ongoing actions to apply the learning from the session

At the end of the session, each person will leave with an action plan of how they intend to apply the learning from session.
