Scottish Gymnastics 2018 Coach of the Year Lauren Jeffrey has been appointed as the Great Britain Junior National Coach for Double Mini Trampoline.

Lauren is part of the four-strong national coaching team who will focus on developing DMT gymnasts in the GB senior and junior performance programmes.

Working closely with the Trampoline, Tumbling and DMT Technical Committee, they will manage and further develop the DMT performance pathway structure whilst also establishing closer collaboration and coaching partnerships with the DMT home nations’ programmes.

Lauren is head coach and founder of the City of Edinburgh Trampoline Club, and last November was named Scottish Gymnastics Coach of the Year, sponsored by Gymnova. She is currently studying for a PGDip through Scottish Gymnastics at Edinburgh Napier University, and has just graduated from the British Gymnastics high performance coach development programme.

Speaking on her year-long appointment, Lauren said: “Having coached with for British Gymnastics with Great Britain DMT since 2014, I am thrilled to have been appointed as GBR Junior National DMT Coach.

“It is an exciting opportunity to facilitate the continued growth, development and performance of DMT in Britain and on the world stage. Double mini trampoline is exploding in popularity with many new clubs introducing the discipline, which is exciting and driving the sport forwards.

“The GB juniors are the seniors of the future and I am very much looking forward to working with the GBR team, British Gymnastics, clubs and my fellow coaches this year and beyond in my new role. Exciting times ahead!”

Congratulations Lauren, we wish you well as junior national coach!
