Scottish Gymnastics is pleased to offer members the chance to learn from some of the best leaders from the world of sport and business.

The Huddle will offer members a no cost occasion to listen to inspirational speakers at the Stirling Court Hotel on Wednesday 20 February.

Key-note speaker will be Floyd Woodrow MBE (pictured) who was one of the youngest soldiers ever to be selected for the Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) and was awarded the UK’s second-highest award, the Distinguished Conduct Medal for his contribution in Iraq and also earnt a MBE for work in Afghanistan.

Since leaving the military Floyd, has established his consultancy business and will present his Compass for Life leadership model on the day which enables individuals to practice self-leadership and understand themselves further. Compass for Life will be familiar to some members from the Scottish Gymnastics Leadership Academy which looked closely at this model of self-reflection over the past two years. Now is your chance to meet Floyd himself and be inspired by this successful leader!

What’s more, every Scottish Gymnastics member who attends The Huddle will be given a signed copy of Floyd’s third book The Warrior, The Strategist and You to take away with them.

Matthew Hart will also join Floyd in Stirling as a speaker at The Huddle. A former Great Britain TeamGym coach, Matte launched and managed 1066 Gymnastics in Sussex for eight years before becoming head coach at Cirque du Soleil. He will be sharing his experiences and challenges of staff management within a gymnastics’ setting and how he transferred his leadership skills to a new environment.

Sharing experiences with people from other sports can often help  us learn and grow. Scottish Swimming’s Alan Lynn will join us in Stirling to explore how the Commonwealth Games Scotland aquatics team established their culture and behaviours in the Gold Coast and tell us how the team responded to challenges both in and out of the water.

As well as inspiring speakers delegates will have the chance to learn about young leaders, how you can focus in on your millennial aged leaders within your club and what they can do for you.

To book your place at The Huddle please email Jacqui Stone, Club Business Manager, jacqui.stone@scottishgymnastics.org by Monday 11 February at 12noon

The event is a full day with networking from 9.30am and finishing up by 5pm.
