This week (15th-17th July) saw gymnasts and coaches from across the country come together at Dick McTaggart Centre, Dundee to attend the Men's Artistic Development Traning Camp.
Ten coaches along with thirty five boys took part in the training camp which was run for all of the gymnasts participating in the national development programme.
The three day camp, gave both coaches and gymnasts the opportunity to learn a variety of new skills led by Scottish Men's Artistic Talent Development coach Andrew Webb.
Andrew Webb Commented, "The camp was a great success and I was thrilled to be able to work with such a positive and dedicated group of coaches and their gymnasts. We managed to train all apparatus, share working practices and preparation methods which all contributed to moving our whole programme forward. I was very happy to be able to welcome Sam Hunter to attend as our guest to work with the coaches and boys."
The training camp was very well recieved, with one coach commenting;
Such a great camp, inspiring and unifying the coaches to go back to their clubs and work harder
The National Development Training camp also welcomed a variety of guests, these guests included Sam Hunter (British National Development Coach), Simon Petri (sports psychologist), and Andrew Mackie (CWG gymnast and institute strength and conditioning coach) to enhance the variety on offer during the camp.
A special thanks go to the support coaches and the Men's Technical Panel for thier work throughout the week.
