Scottish Gymnastics former president Louise Martin and special recognition award recipient John Wills have been recognised in the New Year’s Honours list.
Dame Louise Martin was honoured for services to sport. As well as being president of the Scottish Gymnastics Association, Dame Louise has been the Chair of Sportscotland and is Past Chair on the Board of Commonwealth Games Scotland. She was the first woman to be appointed as the Commonwealth Games Federation’s Honorary Secretary and is now CGF President.
John Wills BEM, the founder of and coach at Banchory Trampoline and Double-Mini Trampoline Club has been awarded the British Empire Medal for services to trampolining in North East Scotland. John will be known to many of you from events in his role of trampoline judging convenor on the Technical Panel. He was given a special recognition honour by Scottish Gymnastics in 2016.
