OUR new Acro Pathway Programme launched at the end of June with an excellent clinic and training camp. And, keeping us busy over the summer holidays, we’ve had summer camps running for Men’s and Women’s Artistic, all led by performance coaches and British National Coaches.

These sessions were focused on developing the expertise of coaches and gymnasts working towards the elite pathway. Below is a round-up of the events and those participating:

25th June East Kilbride & 26th June, Avondale, Acro Pathway and Performance Camp & Clinic. A total of 45 gymnasts and 15 personal coaches worked with British Performance Pathway lead coach, Ian Said and British National Coach, Toshko Pavlov

25th to 28th July, Dundee, MAG Summer Pathway Camp & Clinic.  A total of 39 grades gymnasts and 14 personal coaches came together to work with British Gymnastics National Development coach Sam Hunter, and performance coaches Anthony Wise and Andrew Tucker

2nd to 4th August, Lasswade, WAG Summer Pathway Camp & Clinic. This saw 35 compulsory grade gymnasts and 18 personal coaches work with performance coaches Rochelle Douglas and Dave Roy-Wood.

30th and 31st July, Dundee, TRA Summer Pathway Clinic. In all, 17 coaches, along with 10 pathway gymnasts, had the opportunity to work with Olympic coach Paul Greaves

Feedback from those who participated in these events has been excellent, with coaches hailing the debates over technical aspects of execution which “was very beneficial and eye-opening in a friendly atmosphere”. The content of the events was commended as “excellent and refreshing”, while there was also a call for “more testing on gymnast improvements with demanding goals set”.
