PAUL TO LEAD PHYSICAL PREPARATION IN PERFORMANCE PATHWAYS

After a successful recruitment process Scottish Gymnastics are pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Coyle as Consultant Physical Preparation Coach, he will lead in the physical preparation of gymnasts on the performance pathway programmes across our Olympic and Non-Olympic disciplines.    

As a Senior Physical Preparation coach with sportscotland Paul brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to this role. Over his 14 years as a strength and conditioning coach he has previously worked with Commonwealth, World and Olympic champions and has also led nationally on multiple sports such as Cycling, Hockey, Badminton and Wheelchair Curling. 

Wendy Purdie, Scottish Gymnastics Performance Manager, is delighted at the appointment. She said “As part of the Scottish Gymnastics 12-year strategy we are aspiring, within our performance pathway, to ‘expand the talent pool and develop Scottish gymnasts to British and World performance levels’  

She continued: ‘By attracting Paul’s level of expertise in Physical Preparation we will help raise performance standards in the sport as well as strengthen the development pathways to ensure a strong sporting legacy”
