Scottish Gymnastics will once again, run the unique Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Sports Performance Enhancement for Gymnastics.
The two-year course, in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University, is the only one of its kind in the UK and focuses on developing performance level gymnastics coaches. This is part of our continued commitment to create a strong Scottish Gymnastics inspiring and nurturing emerging talent.
The course was first run in 2016 and has been well received, it has already helped five Scottish coaches. One of those Iona Bruce, from Glasgow Trampoline club, said; “ I would recommend the PGDip as it offers you a lot of insight to gymnastics coaching that you perhaps don’t get with other UKCC courses. Whereas this focuses much more the wider aspect of your gymnasts and their lives”
Giles Lomax, Performance Coach Development Manager, added: “Once again we have secured significant investment from sportscotland which allows us to subsidise each of the candidate’s places for the programme and help other aspiring world class coaches in Scotland achieve their ambitions”
Applications, for the course beginning in September 2018, are now open with the closing date Friday 27 July.
