The countdown has begun to the 2020 Scottish National Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
The disciplines’ showcase including the disability masters takes place at Bell’s Sports Centre on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March.
The championships bring together the country’s top men’s and women’s artistic gymnasts across age categories as they compete to be named Scottish champion.
Competitors include three-time champion and member of Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, Cara Kennedy, as well as her Team Scotland teammates Ellie Russell, Izzy Tolometti and Shannon Archer, who was champion in 2017. Commonwealth medallists David Weir and Kelvin Cham, who is also a former Scottish champion, are competing in the men’s event.
In addition, we are delighted Dan Purvis, Olympic, Commonwealth, world and European medallist returns to Bell’s this year. Not to compete however, but the six-time Scottish championship winner is co-hosting the event with presenter Mark Perkins!
As we countdown to the artistic championships, each week a different top gymnast will be answering questions which you can send us across our socials. First up, Commonwealth Gymnast and 2017 Scottish artistic champion Shannon Archer. Pop over to the Scottish Gymnastics Facebook page to hear what she has to say. Check our socials for more and don't forget to submit your questions.
You can watch the top and emerging talent at the action-packed 2020 Championships for as little as £6 online in advance with free delivery.
