Over 230 gymnasts from 37 teams will compete at the Scottish National TeamGym Championships at Meadowmill sports centre, Tranent this weekend.
Chair of the TeamGym technical panel, Amanda Boucher, said: “We're all very excited about the Scottish Teamgym Championships this weekend. The level of entries shows another increase from previous years - a testament to the success of our development programmes.
At the championship’s teams will compete in two categories, micro and teamgym. The micro competition encourages teams of between three and five into the discipline as they take to the trampet and tumble track. The teamgym category will have between six and 12 members who will compete on three pieces of apparatus the trampet, tumble track as well as floor.
Amanda added: “This year, for the first time, we have included the open age teamgym category and we look forward to seeing lots of quality floor routines from the clubs.

This year TeamGym has seen an increase in the number of qualified judges, as well as increased opportunities in performance, development, education and competitions.

The competition kicks off at 9:55am with the Youth Micro Level 4 competition. Spectators can buy tickets on the door Adults £5 Concessions £3.
