European Age Group Games
Riesa (GER) 25th – 27th September 2015
Two partnerships from Scotland have been invited to trial to represent Great Britain at the European Age Group Games in Germany in September. The gymnasts, from Acrobay and City of Glasgow, attended the first selection event earlier this month at Lilleshall National Sports Centre and will return for a final assessment in July.
12-18 Women’s Group
Jodi Watson, Jane Stevenson & Chloe Rowlands
Acrobay head coach Suzanne Fraser commented on the partnerships experience at the first trial, "As this was the trios first time trialling they were very nervous but coped well for their first time. Both myself and the girls were very pleased with their performances. We hope to improve for the next trial in a couple of weeks with the experience gained from last one and the girls have been working very hard towards this in training."
12-18 Men’s Group
City of Glasgow GC
Fraser Shepherd, James Thomson, Lewis Deas & Marcus Hunter
Coach Andrew Fowler was delighted with the boys performance in Lilleshall, "We are all extremely happy with how they held themselves amongst very prestigious opposition. The boys hard work over the year and resilience when faced with injuries and other demands have been fantastic. Skills wise they have allowed the club to push towards higher levels of skill performed than ever before. Additionally, they have provided yet another platform for Scottish gymnasts to be recognised on the British scene. Both partnerships at the selection event performed well and were a credit to the nation. Hopefully this will inspire others in the sport to push towards performance goals."
Selection 1 – 6th/7th June, Lilleshall National Sports Centre
Selection 2 – 11th/12th July, Lilleshall National Sports Centre
The partnerships selected to represent Great Britain will be announced on or before Friday 17th July 2015.
