Level 2 Coach required urgently – temporary position

Active Schools Edinburgh are in urgent need of a level 2 coach to assist with sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for approximately eight weeks (as at 25 September). They currently have one coach and need a second for the sessions to go ahead, and they have had to stop delivering classes in the meantime.

An exciting opportunity exists at British Gymnastics Foundation for an Independent Trustee who can offer guidance, support, expertise and an objective perspective on the key matters of strategy, governance and financial affairs.

Zippy's Gymnastics Academy

Zippy's Gymnastics Academy Ltd. are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated coach to join our coaching team. We are based in Thornliebank and have classes seven days per week, but days and hours are open for negotiation. We require coaches with a Level 1 or above (MA or General qualification). The candidates need to be highly motivated and work well within a team. A valid Safeguarding certificate, membership with BG and a current PVG are essential.

Acrobay Gymnastics Club

Coaches Required – Level 2 or above in either General or Artistic Gymnastics

Acrobay is the current Scottish Gymnastics Club of the Year. Since moving to their own facility in Rosyth a year ago, the club has grown, and now has over 1200 gymnasts.  The successful candidate would be joining a team of 26 qualified coaches.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, qualified coach General/Artistic Level 2 who works well within a team, to predominantly deliver recreational gymnastics classes which will include evening and weekend work.

Hourly rate will be dependant on level of qualification and experience.

Edinburgh University Gymnastics Club

Coaches Required - Level 2 or higher

Our club is in need of coaches who are able to work with those of all ability, from beginners to advanced. As such, a Level 2 qualification in tumbling and acro is desired. Sessions run on Wednesday from 1:30-5:30pm, Thursday from 5:30-7:30pm, and Saturday from 12:00-2:30pm. Sessions start second week of September and run through April with a break from mid-December to mid-January, with some additional days for competitions and camps. 

Hourly rate is £10/hr or more with high qualification

Lanark Gymnastics Club 

Coaches Required – All Levels

Lanark Gymnastics Club is currently going through an exciting phase of growth and development. With a new dedicated venue in the forefront of our plans, we are looking for energetic and committed coaches to join our team and help support our expanding classes and club numbers! 

Our club currently offers Acrobatic, Tumbling, Display, General & Pre-School gymnastics but will be venturing into new disciplines when our new facility is set up and ready for use. We are looking for coaches for a range of opportunities within the club at present and in the future. At the moment we are currently looking for: 

  • L3 (or L2 with interest in progressing qualification) Acrobatic Gymnastics Coach (priority).
  • L2s in Tumbling, Acro, Trampoline, Pre-School and General.
  • L1s in a range of areas to support our classes and club development. 

There is a 25-hour and a 10-hour contracts available for coaches to start on the 5th of September. Coaches will be employed by the club.

Coaches are required to have a relevant and up-to-date Safeguarding certificate(s) as well as a current PVG and appropriate membership with British Gymnastics. We are looking for our new coaches to be friendly, committed and motivated. The club currently has plans to expand its competitive sections and therefore new coaches will be required to attend competitions and weekend training events as per the competition calendar/cycle. Therefore we are looking, where possible, to employ coaches with good availability and flexibility. At the moment the club has many opportunities throughout the structure and therefore weekly hours will be negotiable. 

We are looking to offer prospective coaches employment contracts, a range of employment benefits such as holiday entitlement/pay, contractual hours and sickness pay. Pay/salary will is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Meadowbank Gymnastics Club

Part-time Assistant Head Coach (Women’s Artistic)

We are looking for an ambitious, enthusiastic and motivated gymnastics coach to join our team in Edinburgh.

Duties will include assisting our head coach, coaching, planning programmes, liaising with parents and coaches and basic administration.

Opportunities to participate in further training to enhance coaching qualification will be provided.

A minimum current qualification at WA level 2 is essential.

The position is 21 hours per week and salary is £20,000 per annum pro rata.

Balfron Gymnastics Club 

Balfron Gymnastics Club is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic coach to work on a part-time basis at the well-established club based at Balfron High School in the village of Balfron.

Job Specification

The applicant must be confident and experienced in Gymnastics coaching, with a passion for coaching children from age four upwards. You should have the knowledge to work with children of all abilities and a willingness to input new ideas to continually improve our coaching programme. Starting as soon as possible, you would be required to assist the Head Coach and occasionally lead the groups (when standing in for the Head Coach) for blocks of approximately 6 - 10 weeks on Saturdays 10am – 5pm and Thursdays 4.30pm – 8.00pm, depending on club requirements it may also be in school holidays. The hourly rate will be £12.50 for an assistant coach or £15.50 for acting Head Coach.

Qualifications

Candidates should be qualified to at least Level 2, although we will consider Level 1 assistants who are currently undertaking a Level 2 qualification. We would anticipate any Level 2 coaches applying to be looking to qualify as a Level 3 coach in the future. Level 3 coaches are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be PVG checked through the club. A car driver with your own transport is essential if you live outside the village.
