East Renfrewshire Culture & Leisure - Gymnastics Coaching Vacancies

Salary: £9.65 per hour starting rate + holiday pay & benefits
Hours:  Negotiable up to 20 hours per week 

ERCL Gymnastics currently supports over 500 young people per week learning and developing in the sport from pre-school through to their teenage years, and we are looking for new coaches to help us meet the ever-increasing demand in our area.

Our programme is progressively structured, with children working towards milestones and events throughout the term-time programme, and our coaches are supported and mentored to gain further qualifications and expand their skills.  If you enjoy high-quality coaching at recreational or pre-school level, this would be an ideal opportunity for you.  

We are seeking coaches with UKCC Level 1 or 2 General, Artistic or Pre-School qualifications to help us lead, improve and expand what we have on offer.  Hours on offer are negotiable and can be fitted around any level of interest and availability, as we have classes seven days per week, as well as holiday and after-school programmes.

ETKO Sports Academy School Aged Gymnastics Programme Co-ordinator

This is a permanent post which could be either a part or full time position, working over evenings and weekends.

The role

We are now looking for an experienced, motivated and committed Gymnastics Coach to help take the lead and deliver our ETKO School Aged Gymnastics Programme at our purpose-built gymnastics centre located in Oldmeldrum Aberdeenshire. This successful and well equipped facility is extremely busy and offers great opportunities for the post holder to develop as a coach and help shape the future of ETKO gymnastics.

Applicants must enjoy working with school-aged children and have a passion for gymnastics. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, confident and professional, and have excellent customer service skills and be able to confidently communicate and sell the ETKO Programme.

The successful candidate must take on the ETKO philosophy of inspiring a lifelong love of fitness to all participants by teaching the fitness fundamentals which will support our participants in a variety of sports.

L Gymnastics Academy Performance Coach

L Gymnasctics Academy is based at ETKO Sports Academy in Oldmeldrum, Aberdeenshire which trains in a dedicated purpose built gymnastics facility.

At LGA we are looking to develop our performance programme and require a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to ensure continuation of our established coaching programme. The Academy was formed in October 2015 with the goal to have gymnasts working and competing at Regional, National and Elite Level.

West Dunbartonshire Gymnastics Club - Development Coordinator Post

Salary:    £22,926 pro rata (14hrs/wk)
Location:        Office base Vale of Leven, West Dunbartonshire
Contract:    1 Year post funding (with potential for extension)

West Dunbartonshire Gymnastics Club currently caters for gymnasts between ages of 7 – 15 years old, and with securing Direct Club Investment the club are working to sustain and grow its membership within the local community. WDGC (in partnership with sportscotland and West Dunbartonshire Leisure) are seeking to recruit a Development Coordinator to expand membership and discipline provision within the club. This post will be contracted to 14 hours per week with key responsibilities of; 

  • increasing capacity through introducing new gymnastics disciplines and sessions        
  • recruiting, managing & developing coaches & volunteers 
  • support & develop facility project                                                                         
  • maximising school & community links
  • developing partnership work with West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust, Scottish Gymnastics, and other relevant agencies
  • Applying for funding applications/ grants/ sponsorships 

This ‘Development Coordinator’ should have excellent communication, project management and interpersonal skills and have the ability to cope with a varied workload.  In addition, they will have a good understanding of local priorities and have experience of partnership working with various agencies. It is desirable that applicants have experience of working within a Gymnastics field and have an understanding of Scottish Gymnastics Association key priorities. It is also essential that applicants hold an appropriate qualification to HND level or above and have extensive experience in sports coaching.

This post will be supported through sportscotland funding (one year), with the possibility of extending funds thereafter.

This varied role will include the delivery of our new and exciting recreational programme, planning, preparing and delivering high quality coaching to our young development gymnasts and the overall responsibility for the coaching and developing our competitive gymnasts. You will be supported by a team who will provide opportunities to develop and grow your own coaching and leadership skills. 

The successful candidate will need the following attributes for this exciting post:

  • Women’s Artistic/ General Level 2 qualification or above. 
  • Effective planning and communication skills
  • Proven track record of working with competitive female gymnasts
  • Flexibility to meet the demands of the job

Auchterarder Gymnastics Club - Coaching Positions – Level2 +

Auchterarder Gymnastics Club are looking for enthusiastic, confident and dynamic coaches with a love of the sport to join our coaching team. Auchterarder Gymnastics Club was formed in 1987 and is the one of the largest youth organisations within Auchterarder and one of the largest in Perthshire with a modern training facility which allows our gymnasts to train at all levels up to and including national level.

This is a great opportunity to join our successful club and work with a great team. You will work with the Head Coach to deliver and continually improve our coaching program. You will be coaching all ages and preparing gymnasts for competitions and gradings. Our classes run in the evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays. This will be a permanent post. Hours to be negotiated will be 25hours per week upwards.  The start date will be July 2017. 

Candidates should be qualified to at least Level 2 men's or women’s (or both) and wishing to progress to level 3 in the future. Level 3 coaches are welcome to apply.  All candidates will require to hold a Protection of Vulnerable Groups check and attend a Safeguarding and Protecting Children course. You will have the knowledge to work with children of all ages and abilities.

Balfron Gymnastics Club 

Balfron Gymnastics Club is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic coach to work on a part-time basis at the well-established club based at Balfron High School in the village of Balfron.

Job Specification

The applicant must be confident and experienced in Gymnastics coaching, with a passion for coaching children from age four upwards. You should have the knowledge to work with children of all abilities and a willingness to input new ideas to continually improve our coaching programme. Starting as soon as possible, you would be required to assist the Head Coach and occasionally lead the groups (when standing in for the Head Coach) for blocks of approximately 6 - 10 weeks on Saturdays 10am – 5pm and Thursdays 4.30pm – 8.00pm, depending on club requirements it may also be in school holidays. The hourly rate will be £12.50 for an assistant coach or £15.50 for acting Head Coach.

Qualifications

Candidates should be qualified to at least Level 2, although we will consider Level 1 assistants who are currently undertaking a Level 2 qualification. We would anticipate any Level 2 coaches applying to be looking to qualify as a Level 3 coach in the future. Level 3 coaches are welcome to apply. The successful candidate will be PVG checked through the club. A car driver with your own transport is essential if you live outside the village.
