Job Description

Scottish Gymnastics is seeking notes of interest from individuals who would like to be considered for coaching roles at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The roles will be challenging but extremely rewarding and provide an opportunity for the individuals to be at the heart of a home Games in Scotland. Notes of interest must be supported by the club. 

Roles Available:

Lead Coach for the Women’s Artistic Team

Online interviews will be held on 24 or 25 November 2025, so the application window is open until Friday, 14 November 2025.

Note: Lead Coach for the Men’s Artistic Team is confirmed as National Coach, Marius Gherman

Assistant Coach for the Women’s Artistic Team

Interviews and appointment will be made in March 2026, so the application window will be announced in February 2026.

Roles Commitment:

Successful applicants will be required to support all games-related activity, under the direction of Artistic Technical Director, Scott Hann MBE and Lead Manager Performance & Pathways, Kenny More as follows:

  • Team Scotland Staff Camp

27-28 February 2026 (Venue tbc)

  • Residential Preparation Camps at Inverclyde National Sports Training Centre

25 – 28 May

15 – 18 June

26 – 27 June

06 – 09 July

18 – 20 July

  • Residential Games Period in Glasgow

20 – 28 July 2026 (Competition dates 24 – 28 July)

We are looking for experienced individuals with a track record of preparing and coaching gymnasts at international competitions. Individuals will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work as part of a dynamic support team.

These are voluntary roles, with Scottish Gymnastics/Commonwealth Games Scotland covering accommodation and subsistence expenses associated with the preparation camps and games period.
