Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work with Scottish Gymnastics as safe sport case officer. Scottish Gymnastics is the governing body responsible for all levels of gymnastics activity in Scotland. We believe safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility with Scottish Gymnastics taking the lead in ensuring the wellbeing of all our members.  We are committed to making sure everyone can learn and enjoy gymnastics in a positive, safe and healthy environment.

Reporting to the safe sport manager, the post-holder will support members, clubs and volunteers in responding effectively to safeguarding, wellbeing and safe sport concerns. The role involves managing and investigating safeguarding cases and providing advice and guidance to club safeguarding officers. It requires collaborative working to ensure the highest standards of safeguarding practice are embedded across the gymnastics community.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone with strong investigative, case management and relationship-building skills who is committed to promoting safe, positive experiences for children, young people and adults in sport.

The post-holder will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, be able to influence and develop strong, effective working relationships and have the ability to work proactively with volunteer safeguarding officers, clubs, coaches, officials and key partners. This post also requires the ability to work as part of a team as well as being able to work on their own initiative, coupled with a sound knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, procedure, and best practice guidance.

The successful candidate will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including PVG Scheme membership.

If you would like an informal chat about the role, please contact Lora Burgess, head of wellbeing and safe sport, on 07706 328418 or email lora.burgess@scottishgymnastics.org.

If you think you are right for this opportunity and this role excites you, please send a letter of application outlining your experience, along with a copy of your CV to HR@scottishgymnastics.org to arrive no later than 5pm on Wednesday 11 November 2026. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk. All appointments are made purely based on merit and ability
