Acrobatic | Proud Performances at European Championships
Five Scottish gymnasts shone as they represent Great Britain at the thirty-first edition of the European Acrobatic Championships in Varna, Bulgaria from the 18 to 22 October.
Nephele Idehen and Daisy Campbell returned to the international stage for a second time to represent GB, this time as a trio accompanied by Molly McHale. The trio from Acrobay started their competition with their dynamic routine, placing seventh out of 27 partnerships in the junior category. Their dramatic balance routine on day three of the event placed them fourth in qualifying with a score of 27.670, just .030 behind their GB teammates. Due to only one partnership per nation being eligible for a place in finals, the girls unfortunately missed out on competing for medals.
Emma Logan and Gemma Russell from Dynamic certainly impressed on their international debut out in Bulgaria. Finishing sixth in the women’s junior pair balance qualifiers, like the trio, were not eligible for the final as their teammates finished ahead of them. The pair then showcased their dynamic routine and placed themselves top of the table in third and successfully qualified for the final. Stepping onto the floor for their last performance of the event, Emma and Gemma delivered their action filled routine once again earning sixth place respectively.
Congratulations to the gymnasts and their coaches for their incredible performances at this event.
