Artistic | Six Scottish medals brought home from Northern European Championships
Five individual and one team medal won by Scottish gymnasts at the 2025 Northern European Championships hosted in Leicester from 24 to 26 October.
Day one of competition hosted the men’s qualifications and team finals. Scotland’s men’s scores combined earned them the bronze medal position behind home nations England and Wales. The women’s artistic team took to the floor the following day where they finished just outside of the medals in fourth.
Largs Isla Carse put out four strong vaults across qualifications and finals days. Her average vault score of 12.450 on both days secured her the silver medal in finals. Women’s teammate Lottie Smith took to the podium in the all-around competition. The Corby gymnast placed third, typing for the bronze medal with Iceland’s Rakel Sara Pétursdóttir.
Euan McLellan (West Lothian) competed in three of the six finals on offer. Most notably taking home the bronze medal on pommel horse behind a joint first for Finland and England. His club teammate’s Kyle Millar and Moray Gault also brought home bronze on floor and high bar respectively.


The following gymnasts finished top eight in their respective discipline and category:
Euan McLellan – West Lothian | men’s p-bar fourth and rings eighth
Daniel Smyllie – City of Birmingham | men’s pommel fourth
Lottie Smith – Corby | women’s bars fifth and beam sixth
Caiden-Jay Malone – Hamilton | men’s pommel seventh
