Artistic | Team Scotland Achieve 2026 programme selections
Team Scotland selects three members from artistic gymnastics to participate in the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games Achieve programme.
The programme which began in 2010 aims to propel athletes and coaches from diverse backgrounds onto sporting success by preparing them for participation in the Commonwealth Youth Games, Commonwealth Games and other major sports events.
Indira Williams from West Lothian and City of Glasgow’s Mitchell Cargill were chosen as athletes. Both have had success at Scottish, British and international level. In 2025, Indira and Mitchell represented Scotland in artistic gymnastics at the Caledonia International where Scotland won the team trophy.
Joining them is Lucy Orr, Indira’s personal coach, who herself is a former Glasgow 2014 Games Achieve programme gymnast. Speaking about her selection, Lucy said: “It was great when I done it as a gymnast and to meet all of the other athletes.
“For me it’s a full 360 coming back as a coach and I’m just so grateful these guys get to experience that as well.”
Previous members of the programme that went onto attend a Games include, Birmingham 2022 father and daughter coaching duo John and Becki Campbell (West Lothian). And Gold Cost 2018 team medallist and Birmingham 2022 David Weir from City of Glasgow.
Congratulations to Indiria, Mitchell and Lucy on their selection for Team Scotland’s Achieve programme. We look forward to following your Games journey in Glasgow this summer. The Games officially open on July 23, with artistic gymnastics events taking place from 24 to 28 July.
