Tumbling | Silver success at French Cup 2024
Two silver medals were won by Scottish gymnastics at the Tumbling French Cup across 9-10 November as Scotland attended the event in Sevran, France for the first time.
Kayden Carson from East Kilbride stepped onto the podium first to be presented the silver medal in the men’s 15-16 years competition after qualifying to finals in fifth. His teammate in this category William Morris (Hartlepool) improved from twelfth place qualification to finish top six.
The second silver on Sunday was earned by Joshua Mawueane (Dynamite) making his international debut certainly one to remember.
In the female events Scotland put out strong runs in talented pools of competition to unfortunately miss out on medals but narrow margins. Olivia Fox (Durham) stayed consistent in her final tumbles to finish fourth, 0.6 behind third in the 15-16 years category. In the 13-14 years competition, Charlotte McGregor from Dynamite scored 21.900 in both of her final runs to also place fourth. In her first ever international, Summer Doohan (Dynamite) missed out on a bronze as she finished 0.2 outside of the medal table.
Congratulations to Kayden and Joshua on their medal success and to the full team on their performances at this event.
