The High-Performance (Level 5) qualifications in the British Gymnastics Coach Education Framework are prestigious qualifications, reserved for coaches working at a higher level of competitive performance and requiring further training and qualification in both advanced coaching processes and technical skills.

Coaches wishing to become a High-Performance Coach in their respective discipline are required to submit an application which includes evidence of them working at a level which justifies the requirement for further training and qualification. This application will determine their ability to progress onto the the Practical Courses which cover their disciplines technical gymnastics skills.

Applications to begin training towards the High-Performance Coach can be submitted between 1st – 31st October annually. Applications will not be accepted outside of this time.

To apply you will need to submit:

  • Personal information
  • Coaching qualification information*
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Justification for requirement to progress with training and qualification
  • Video evidence of gymnasts (of whom you would be classed as their ‘personal coach’) competently working competitive routines with syllabus skills from the Level 4/Senior Club/Performance Coach Syllabus**
  • Supporting evidence of gymnast level and coach contribution towards their level of performance

Professional Practice in High-Performance Coaching is a prerequisite for enrolment onto the practical courses, as a minimum you should be enrolled onto the next event to have your application considered.

**Evidence cannot be more than 12 months old.

The applications will open between 1st – 31st October. You should collect evidence as required in the months leading up to the application window opening and then submit your application within the window.

If you need to see the skills from the syllabus you can visit the Syllabus Library.
