Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual from our membership to join our Wellbeing and Protection committee.
This role is open to anyone with a strong commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and athlete wellbeing. In particular, we warmly welcome applications from members of the gymnast community, especially those who have faced challenges and can share their lived experience to help shape and improve safeguarding practices.
If you fall into this category, please know that you do not need to have formal expertise in wellbeing and protection—your unique perspective is highly valued and can make a real difference.

Role and Responsibilities
Responsible to: the board
Responsible for: Provide advice and guidance on all protection, wellbeing and safeguarding matters ensuring practical, strategic, and operational support to deliver Scottish Gymnastics’ safeguarding strategic objectives.
Key tasks will include:
- Steer, advise and challenge, where appropriate, the Scottish Gymnastics board of directors and all decision-making bodies within Scottish Gymnastics on all wellbeing, protection and safeguarding matters
- Develop and drive forward the Scottish Gymnastics strategic objectives on wellbeing and protection and review the company’s performance against these
- Oversee the development and implementation of Scottish Gymnastics wellbeing, protection and safeguarding agenda within the wider strategic and legislative environment
- Act as an ambassador for wellbeing, protection and safeguarding in Scottish Gymnastics always promoting and embodying our culture and values
