Senior women’s pair Emma Logan and Gemma Russell represented Great Britain in their first FIG Acrobatic World Championships in Guimaraes, Portugal at the weekend.
The pair from Dynamic Gymnastics Academy kicked off their competition with a balance focused routine, just missing out finals in eleventh place but sitting as nation reserve. Their energetic dynamic routine, with a score of 26.170, secured them a place in the following days final.
Totaling the balance and dynamic qualification scores together also qualified Emma and Gemma to perform in the combined finals. A mix of skills found in their balance and dynamic routines, saw the duo place tenth in the World for combined.
To round up the competition they took to the floor for a final time in Portugal, improving their dynamic score by 0.1 to finish seventh overall.
Congratualtions to Emma, Gemma and personal coach Michelle Diniz on their selection and achievements out at this event.
