Acrobatic Trio Selected to Represent GB
The acrobatic partnership of Erin Henderson, Sacha Muir and Chloe Rowlands from Acrobay Gymnastics Trust have been selected to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the 2019 European Games in Minsk, Belarus next month.
Erin, Sacha and Chloe will join 90 athletes from nine other sports, with one yet to announce their team, as part of Team GB at the multi-sport event which will see 4,000 athletes compete from 50 countries.
Four years ago, Team GB enjoyed success in the first European Games in Baku, winning 47 medals, including 18 gold medals. Amongst the gold medal winning athletes in Azerbaijan were boxers Nicola Adams and Joe Joyce, swimmer Duncan Scott and Jade Jones in taekwondo.
Selected in the team are 25 returning Olympians, from the last three summer Olympic Games, including medallists Jason Kenny, Katy Marchant and Sally Conway, as well as athletes from two non-Olympic gymnastics disciplines, aerobic and acrobatic.
Eighteen athletes are returning for their second Games, including defending women’s skeet champion Amber Hill and Brinn Bevan in the men’s artistic gymnastics.
The event which takes place from 21 to 30 June will be broadcast live on BT Sport. More information on the games and full Team GB line up can be found on their website.
Congratulation to the trio on their selection!
