Ciara Donlevy (Banchory/City of Edinburgh) was part of the GB team who secured the silver medal in the open female DMT competition just ahead of the USA & Canada combined team. Ciara was also competing individually where she performed well on day one to qualify and finish in eighth place.
Wendy Purdie, Scottish Gymnastics Performance Manager is delighted with how well the Scottish gymnasts did in Portugal. She said: “Congratulations to the gymnasts on their podium success. These results reflect the hard work of them all and their personal coaches in their clubs.
“To be selected for Great Britain is a great achievement as well as an honour. However, to medal at this level is the icing on the cake after all their hours of preparations. Ciara, Demi and Ava now head to the FIG world age group championships in Russia next month and their results will give them a great confidence boost going into these.”
Congratulations to everyone who took part.
