Artistic | 2022 Northern European Championships Team Announced
Nine artistic gymnasts have been selected to represent Scotland at the 2022 Northern European Championships which takes place in Jyväskylä, Finland from 18 to 20 November.
With a mix of experience within the team, including three returning gymnasts and two commonwealth team members – the team travelling to Finland will have the opportunity to compete and develop their skills in an international environment with the support of the lead coaches in both men's and women's artistic.
With all home nations represented at the event, the competition is an exciting opportunity for gymnasts to represent Scotland and compete against national teams from the likes of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and hosts, Finland.
Scotland’s recent history at the event includes last year’s successful visit to the competition in Cardiff where the Scottish team secured four medals, including two individual all-around medals. There was gold in the women’s competition for Dundee’s Emily Bremner well as silver for West Lothian’s Cameron Lynn. Both secured places in individual apparatus finals alongside teammates David Weir and Euan McLellan. Back in 2019 the men’s team claimed a bronze medal in Iceland.
We’re excited to follow the team’s journey over the coming weeks and congratulate the following gymnasts and their personal coaches for their selection:
