Awards 2025 | Winners crowned in Glasgow
A host of winners were crowned at the Scottish Gymnastics Awards 2025, sponsored by GymData, on Saturday, 8 November. The evening at Trades Hall in Glasgow celebrated all the best bits of the sport in this country from September 2024 to August 2025.
West Dunbartonshire Gymnastics Club were named the 2025 Club of the Year. Their work in their local community and efforts to train the next generation of coaches stood them out in a very strong field of clubs.
Dynamic Gymnastics Academy were the big winners of the night. Their GB trio – Karla Hillcoat, Emma Logan and Gemma Russell – won the senior gymnast of the year prize. Alexis Mackintosh, another Dynamic member, also took home silverware. She earned the top spot in the community club coach category.
Lifetime achievement and Special recognition
Two long-serving members of the Scottish Gymnastics community were also honoured in Glasgow. Ruth Hudson and Felicity Thow were presented with lifetime achievement awards for their many years of dedication and commitment to the improvement of gymnastics in Scotland.
This year, we also had the pleasure of awarding a special recognition award to Orkney Gymnastics Club. They hosted the gymnastics events for the International Island Games 2025 and showed great attention to detail to make sure the competition ran smoothly.
The evening was hosted by TV and radio presenter, Jennifer Reoch. The CEO of Scottish Gymnastics, Doc McKelvey, welcomed everyone to the event.
The finalists were selected by a panel of judges, made up of Scottish Gymnastics board members, staff and sportscotland members.
Congratulations to the winners and well done to all the finalists. Thank you to our guests and sponsors for making it such a great celebration of gymnastics!
