Daniel Purvis Wins 2015 British Senior All-Around Title
All AROUND GOLD & SILVER FOR SCOTS AT 2015 BRITISH CHAMPIONSHIPS
Daniel Purvis has won senior all around gold at the 2015 British Championships at the Echo Arena, Liverpool.
Dan claimed gold with a strong performance scoring 88.500. Scottish teammate Frank Baines took silver with a score of 86.350.
On winning the all around title for the first time since 2012 Purvis said, "I’m really, really happy to be the champion again. When you get older and see these incredible young gymnasts coming through you begin to doubt yourself so to again be British Champion is really satisfying. The energy I got from the home crowd was unbelievable, really out there with any competition I’ve ever done it definitely helped me to the title.”
The Scottish duo also claimed medals in the Individual Apparatus finals, Purvis took joint gold on Floor, Gold on Rings and Parallel Bars Silver. Scottish teammate Baines added a High Bar Silver and Parallel Bars Bronze to his all-around medal. Daniel Keatings who chose to compete on only one apparatus – Pommel Horse, had an unusual slip off the apparatus leaving him with a score of 13,250.
