Rhythmic | Scots win fifteen medals at 2025 Home Nations Tournament
Scotland as a nation secured the silver team medal, with hosts Wales taking gold in the 2025 Home Nations Tournament at Sport Wales National Centre, Cardiff from 3 to 4 May.
Marianna Kunitsyna from Beacon won the only gold in the delegation with her club’s performance, scoring 20.567. The pre-junior gymnasts hoop routine then secured a silver medal for the apparatus.
Reigning Scottish national champion Cara McKay (Evoke) won two silvers, for clubs and ribbon, in the senior competition. Pentland’s Annabel Weir also earned a silver in this level but for her hoop routine followed by a bronze for ball. The pairs scores combined earned them second place as a senior team (A).
Espoir Sophie Chen (ViSta) added to the Scottish silver count by two for clubs and hoop. ViSta teammate Sofia Derugina stepped onto the third-place spot of the podium to claim bronze for ball and again for her free (no apparatus used) routine. Joined by Rhy-Lee Smith (Pentland) the trio came second in the Espoir team event.
Bella Watson from Evoke placed in the top five across all junior apparatus and most notably earned bronze for her ball routine.
Sophie Chen, Alyssa Smoleanu, Milana Aleksejeva, Damiana Kopilova, Nicole Pereidriji and Iglika Ivanov (all from ViSta) competed together in the group competition, together winning silver.
