Trampoline | Gymnasts Added to Performance Programmes
Four gymnasts have been added to the Scottish Gymnastics trampoline performance programmes for 2022.
Selections to the programmes were made following an access day, where skills and physical preparation were reviewed with the gymnasts as part of one of the performance camps.
The trampoline programmes focus on supporting gymnasts, coaches and clubs in developing gymnasts to British level and on the FIG pathway. The success of the programmes to date have seen gymnasts from Scotland selected to GB squads and created opportunities to compete on the international stage.
Junior gymnasts Keir Davidson (Tiggers) and Sarah Gallacher (Sparta) have developed as part of the programme, joining the British squads back in December 2021. They both recently competed at the European Trampoline, DMT and Tumbling Championships in Rimini winning gold medals as part of the junior men’s and women’s teams. Keir and Sarah also placed in the top 20 in the individual qualification rounds.
The four gymnasts below have been selected to join our trampoline programme at national performance programme (NPP), performance pathway programme (PPP) and development programme levels and will join the gymnasts selected for the programme in 2021.
Emily Buist (Flyers Trampoline Club) graduates from the development programme to the PPP – a great example of the progression that programmes provide, and showcasing the performance pathway in action.
Scottish Gymnastics performance manager Wendy Purdie said: “Congratulations to the gymnasts and their personal coaches that were selected in the recent access day. We look forward to watching their progress along with the existing gymnasts on all the programmes.
Having gymnasts, as part of these performance programmes, being selected for GB squads and selected to compete on the world stage demonstrates the hard work being carried out every week in all the clubs and is supported and developed at the performance training camps.
Congratulations to the four gymnasts and their coaches for the selection to the programmes.
