Trampoline | Synchro Success at Nissen Junior Competition 2022
Sarah Gallacher from Sparta Trampoline Club secured a silver medal in the junior women’s synchronised trampoline competition as part of the FIG World Cup event in Arosa, Switzerland.
Sarah was selected to represent Great Britain along with Keir Davidson from Tiggers Trampoline Club at the competition in Arosa from 30 June to 3 July.
It was a positive start for both gymnasts in qualification with Keir qualifying for the individual 15-16 men’s final in sixth place with a score of 95.665, behind GB teammates Sam Hancock and Will Sheridan. Sarah qualified for the individual 15-16 junior women’s final in fourth place, with a score of 92.760 ahead of her GB teammate and synchronised trampoline partner, Gabriella Moorhouse.
Sarah and Gabriella gave a strong performance in qualification for the junior women’s synchro competition heading into the final in sixth place. They scored 45.060 which saw them claim the silver medal, finishing behind Germany’s pair Aurelia Eisloffel and Maya Moeller.
The focus then turned back to the individual competition, before the senior gymnasts took to the trampolines in the FIG World Cup event. In the junior men’s 15-16 final, it was disappointment for Keir Davidson, where his routine didn’t go as planned and a fall meant his routine was scored for only his first move.
Sarah competed well in the final, with an overall sixth place finish and a score of 47.250, just behind GB’s Gabriella.
Congratulations to both gymnasts, their coaches and the GB team.
Wendy Purdie, Scottish Gymnastics performance manager said, “It was great to see Keir and Sarah competing at the Nissen Junior Trampoline Competition."
Their selection to the GB team shows the value of supporting gymnasts through our performance pathways, and the competition was a great opportunity for them to compete against some of the top trampoline gymnasts from around the world, so soon after their success at the Junior Europeans.
"Congratulations to both gymnasts, and their coaches who have helped them to achieve their ambitions.”
