22 Medals for Scotland on Day 2 of Home Nations Tournament
Scotland won 22 medals on the second day of competition at the first ever Home Nations Tournament at Bell’s Sports Centre in Perth, earlier today.
Day one saw the individual all-around and team champions crowned for both artistic and acrobatic disciplines while day two saw artistic gymnasts battle it out on apparatus finals and acrobatic gymnasts compete in the individual partnership finals.
In acro Scotland’s Arianna Lawlor, Sacha Horne and Karla Hillcoat (27.650, pictured) won gold, in a tough FIG 11-16 Women’s Group with team-mates Darcey Irvine, Olivia Penman and Tia Kidd earning silver (25.950). In the FIG 11-16 Women’s Pair Eve Gillies and Sophie Humphries achieved a gold medal (27.450) ahead of Scottish team-mates Maia Watt and Anna Tearney who came in second (26.550). In the FIG 12-18 Women’s Pair Emma McConville and Emma McConnell won gold on 26.260 with Mia Costell and Brenna Cruickshank earning a silver medal (25.730). The FIG Women’s Group of 12-18 aged gymnasts saw Scarlett Haldane, Ellie Horstmann and Rebecca Stewart earn the gold medal (27.190) while Scotland team-mates Rachel Grieve, Jade Hall, and Jodie Hall came in bronze medal position on 25.860. FIG 13-19 Women’s Group saw Keira McManus, Lucy Glendenning and Simona Marinov win gold scoring 27.070 with their team-mates Olivia Clark, Cara Bustard and Eilidh Steven earnt a silver medal.
The Youth Women’s Group competition saw Mia Logan, Jasmine Parris and Isla Rourke earn first place (26.400), in a large field, from team-mates Evie Wise, Sophie Blood and Bathany Carlyle who achieved a silver medal (26.300) while Mia Blair and Alex Morgan won the Youth Mixed Pair (25.700).
Gemma Russell and Hayleigh Patterson won the IDP Women’s Pair on 27.060 while Eva Ross, Caitlin MacKinnon and Abbie Mailey won gold in the IDP Women’s Group on 26.020.
In women’s artistic, the vault competition saw Tilly Bee win a silver medal scoring 12.525 while Kennedi Foster won joint bronze with Gabrielle Williams from Wales on 12.425. Kennedi also earnt bronze on the uneven bars with a score of 10.900. On floor Crystelle Lake (pictured) also earnt silver finishing on 12.300, just 0.200 behind Wales’s Ruby Evans.
Cameron Lynn (pictured) won gold on the vault earning 13.050 with Cameron Lister coming in silver medal position (12.875). Lister also claimed silver on the high bar with a final score of 11.550, then rounded off the day with a bronze on pommel horse (11.900)
