Rhythmic | 2025 Scottish National Champions Crowned in Dundee
The Regional Performance Centre, Dundee was home to an array of brilliant performances at the 2025 Scottish National Rhythmic Championships.
For the second year running Cara Mackay won the overall gold in the highest level of competition 91.885. This was followed on Sunday by gold medals in the ball, clubs and ribbon finals and silver in the hoop final. Annabel Summer Weir from Pentland Gymnastics Club won gold in the hoop final with a score of 24.317.
Cara said “I know I worked hard in the lead up to the competition, so I felt confident. There’s always some nerves but other than that I was happy.”
This continues a strong 2025 for Cara. The Evoke gymnast won silver medals for clubs and ribbon at the 2025 Home Nations Tournament in May.
In the senior gold level category, Emilie Findlay won the overall gold medal. On the second day of competition, the Beacon gymnast won bronze in the senior ribbon final.
In the junior apparatus finals Marianna Kunitsyna (Beacon) won gold in the ribbon and clubs finals. Rosie Deighton (Evoke) won gold in the ribbon final.
City of Glasgow’s Amy Clark claimed the overall gold medal in the disability bronze level class 1 competition. Amy’s club teammate and one of only two males performing over the weekend, Alistair Kemley, won the silver medal. Grace Moultrie secured the bronze medal to round off a full City of Glasgow Gymnastics Club podium.
ViSta’s Espoir group performed twice on the floor with a free and a ball routine. They earned scores of 16.034 and 14.184 to go home with the first-place trophy.
