Acrobatic and Rhythmic | Seven medals won by Scots at the 2025 Acrobatic, Aerobic & Rhythmic British Championships
One rhythmic and six acrobatic medals were won by Scottish gymnasts at the 2025 Acrobatic, Aerobic & Rhythmic British Championships at Telford International Centre over the weekend.
Acrobatic
Karla Hillcoat, Gemma Russell and Emma Logan from Dynamic won gold with their fan favourite combined routine after qualifying second in the senior women’s group competition. Acrobay’s Scarlett Haldane, Emma Nelson and Ella Gracie had an incredible competition by qualifying first in balance, dynamic and all-around. They ultimately finished top of the podium earning the junior women’s group championship title.
The youth women’s group was a busy category with twelve partnerships competing for podium places. Acrobay’s Katie Hendry, Hannah Johnston and Roxie Kemp dominated the category finishing first not only in all qualifications but finals also to take the gold medal. Club teammates Daisy Campbell, Poppy Green and Lillie MacKean secured the silver medal over in the pre-youth women’s group competition as they earned a total score of 51.950 for their balance and dynamic routines.
Junior women’s pair Emillie Keenan (Dynamic) and Caitlin Mackinnon(Acrobay)represented Dynamic to bring home gold with a score of 24.310 for their combined routine. East Kilbride partnership Millie Cameron and Georgia Shields put out strong performances winning gold with a total of 50.150 in the pre-youth women’s pair category.


Rhythmic
Recently crowned Scottish champion Cara Mackay earned a place in all four finals on offer. The Evoke gymnast most notably claimed the bronze medal with her clubs routine, improving from her sixth-place qualification spot for the apparatus.

Rhythmic
Senior – Cara Mackay | Evoke | ribbon & all-around fourth, ball & hoop fifth
Senior – Annabel Summer Weir | Pentland – ribbon eighth
Under 13 – Marianna Kunitsyna (Guest not eligible to medal) | Beacon | ribbon second, all-around fourth, hoop fifth & clubs eighth


Gemma Russell and Emma Logan were also presented with master gymnast awards at the championships. The duo, previously a senior women’s pair, and achieved the award for competing in the 2024 acrobatic world championships finals while representing Great Britain.
