TeamGym | Scottish gymnasts bring home three medals at the 2025 TeamGym British Championships
Four Scottish gymnasts and their teams win a total of three medals at the 2025 TeamGym British Championships in Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne.
It was double gold for JUMP gymnasts and brothers Evan and Joshua Dewar (Joshua centre left above) at the weekend. Both represented Scarborough at these championships with Evan in the level 2 senior men’s team and Joshua in the level 2 junior men’s respectively. Joining Evan in the senior men’s team was Josh Cantell from Saltire. Josh’s competition was unfortunately cut short as he sustained an injury during warm up, but he safely supported from the sidelines in true TeamGym style and value.

Matthew Capes from Forth Valley once again competed for LS Crewe this time in their level 2 mixed team. Their strong performances on floor and trampet scoring into the 17 region on both apparatus helped them to secure the silver medal.
The following teams finished top eight in their respective levels and categories:
Level 2 | Saltire junior mixed team | fourth
Level 2 | Saltire senior women | sixth
Level 3 | Irvine Bay youth mixed | fifth
Level 4 | Saltire primary challenge | seventh
The championships also doubled as a qualifier for junior and senior level teams to reach the mid European championships. Selections for this this event will not be public until mid-August following a panel meeting.
Congratulations to all gymnasts and their teams on their performances at this year’s 2025 TeamGym British championships. Plus, best wishes to those putting themselves forward for Mid Europeans selection.
