Trampoline, DMT and Tumble Scottish Championships 2018
New Scottish Champions were crowned at the Scottish National trampoline, double mini trampoline (DMT) and tumbling championships in Perth (Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 September)
The two day championship saw the DMT champions decided on day one where many gymnasts continued their great form from the British Championships the previous weekend. Newly crowned British Champion from Banchory Trampoline and DMT club, Kim Beattie, rounded off a great fortnight and became overall Scottish Women’s Champion just ahead of club mate Ciara Donlevy. Morgan James, also Banchory, was Scottish Champion in the age 15-16 age group, Kelly Wynne (City of Edinburgh) earnt the Scottish title in the 13-14 age category. After winning bronze medals at the British Championship in their respective age groups, Ava Fettes (Banchory) won the Scottish title in the age 11-12 category while Flyers Trampoline Club’s Lucy Larg won the Scottish title in the age 9-10 group.
The men’s DMT competition saw Robert Burns (pictured) from Two Foot Higher earnt the overall Men’s Scottish Championship title while Two Foot Highers Fraser McLeod won the Tariff Cup for the gymnast with the highest difficulty score in a single pass (FIG). John Buist (Flyers TC) became Scottish Champion in the age 9-10 group and also won the DMT execution shield.
In trampolining, Glasgow Trampoline club’s Sarah Gallacher earnt the title as the Scottish Ladies Trampoline Champion. Tiggers Keir Davidson, still riding high from his British Championship title, became the Scottish Men’s Trampoline Champion and also won the trampoline form cup.
Over on the tumble track, champions are crowned in both NDP and FIG levels based upon the highest scores across all levels and age groups. Dynamite’s Heather Hughes earnt the top honour as FIG Scottish Champion while club mate Emily Robert won the NDP Scottish Championship.
