Trampoline, DMT and Tumbling | Medal Haul at Inter-Regional Team Final 2022
It was a thrilling weekend for Scotland’s trampoline, double-mini trampoline and tumbling gymnasts as an 87 strong team represented the region and claimed a phenomenal 34 medals at the inter-regional team final event in Sheffield from 2 to 4 September.
The tumbling gymnasts went on to win the overall tumbling cup with a convincing lead in the points, ahead of the South East region. Scottish DMT gymnasts narrowly missed out on team third place in the DMT by just four points and there were individual medals across all three disciplines over the two days of competition.
Gymnasts selected for the regional team have been working hard in their clubs and competed across our full domestic calendar of qualification events in 2022, meeting the section standards to make the team and compete for the region. The competition, which took place at the English Institute of Sport saw gymnasts from levels one to four compete for medals and it was a great display of skills.
It was a hugely successful weekend for Scottish tumbling gymnasts with a total of 16 medals returning to Scottish clubs – showing the progress and success of developing this discipline, and the hard work and dedication of both gymnasts, coaches and clubs over the last few years. For many of the younger gymnasts, this is the first time they have competed at this level.
The level one gymnasts performed well, with Sapphire’s Jorja Holt winning the women’s 9-10 age group and Megan McNab from Dynamite Gymnastics Club taking bronze.
