Trampoline | Performance Programmes Selections 2024-25
Trampoline gymnasts have been selected onto the Scottish Gymnastics performance programmes for the 2024-25 period alongside new national technical leads.
Thirteen gymnasts were selected for our national performance and pathway performance programmes (NPP & PPP) following a profiling day where their technical skills and physical preparation elements were assessed.
Welcome to Paul Greaves as he joins the programme as one of our two national technical leads. He is one of the world’s leading trampoline coaches with a career spanning over 25 years. Paul was the personal coach to one of the world’s greatest trampolinists of all time, Bryony Page, where he coached her to become world and European champion and a double Olympic medalist. In addition to this Paul has a master’s degree in advanced coaching practice and lectures Sports Development and Coaching at one of Scotland’s leading sporting universities, the University of Stirling.
James Davidson returns to the programme, this time as a national technical lead from assistant technical lead. He has over 30 years of experience at regional, national and international level as a high-performance coach (HPC) and is currently head performance coach at Tiggers Trampoline Club. James has been involved with Scottish Gymnastics trampoline programme for over 5 years and from January 2024 joined British Gymnastics programme as the lead coach for the GBR development squad.
We would like to extend thanks to Gary Short as he steps down from his role of trampoline national technical lead for Scottish Gymnastics. Gary was instrumental in helping to build our trampoline performance gymnasts and programme for the past 5 years. Best wishes to him as he moves fully into the role of head national coach for trampoline at British Gymnastics, working with GBR gymnasts in the build up to the LA 2028 Olympics.
Our athlete-centred, coach-led and performance driven programme is based on a culture of providing a supportive environment for gymnasts. This allows them to thrive, embrace challenges and setbacks, and take ownership of their training and development.
Congratulations to the selected gymnasts and their personal coaches. We look forward to following their progress.
