SQA Qualification

Learners on level 1 courses who wish for their qualification to be awarded through SQA, must complete the SQA course enrolment form before the start of their course. Please note there is an additional charge for this.

The Scottish Coaching Certificate is a generic sports coaching award, and is the same SQA qualification awarded by all sports who deliver the qualification. If you already have another discipline’s level 1, which has been awarded the Scottish Coaching Certificate, or another sport has awarded you the Scottish Coaching Certificate you cannot be awarded it again.  You can only be awarded the Scottish Coaching Certificate (SCQF Level 5) once, regardless of sport or discipline.

Gymnast Demonstrators
You must be able to bring three or four demonstrators of the relevant standard to your course and assessment. Level 1 courses require demonstrators both days of their course and the assessment.

Assessment

You must be available to attend all course and assessment dates advertised prior to enrolling. You must be available to attend the assessment date/s advertised, except where exceptional circumstance have been agreed before booking. Changes to any dates, where possible, will incur a fee as per the payment policy. If you are not able to attend any of the dates please contact coacheducation@scottishgymnastics.org before booking.

Additional requirements
If you have any learning or physical disabilities and require additional assistance or support for your course, please contact us before booking so we can discuss your needs, reasonable adjustments or arrangements, and suitability of the course. For courses on the British Gymnastics framework, we may need prior approval for any adjustments or arrangements to the course or assessment criteria.
