PVG Legislation Requirements:
It is an offence for an individual to be in a regulated role or participate in training for the role without PVG scheme membership.
From 1 April 2025, all learners deployed in Scotland (member or non-member) must have a PVG disclosure to attend Scottish Gymnastics assessments. You must have a current PVG disclosure on your record at the time of booking your assessment or we cannot allow you to attend and may receive an assessment charge.
Not a Scottish Gymnastics member but live in Scotland: You must complete a ‘PVG scheme membership confirmation form’ before booking on to your assessment. You need to submit your PVG scheme number, certificate issue date, who you got your PVG through and who you are coaching with. This may be checked with Disclosure Scotland. If found to be incorrect, we must remove you from the assessment and you may receive an assessment charge.
Not coaching any vulnerable groups (over 18s): You must complete the ‘adult activity coach agreement’ before booking on your assessment. If found to be incorrect, we must remove you from the assessment and you may receive an assessment charge.
Learner living out with Scotland: As you are not based in Scotland, you do not require a PVG disclosure to attend this course. You must have the equivalent criminal records check for where you live and work.
Level 1 and 2
eLearning Activities:
You must have completed the online activities in the Academy before attending your assessment. If you have not fully completed your eLearning you will not receive your credential.
Logbook:

Coaching within as Scottish Gymnastics member club:
You must have a PVG disclosure record linked to Scottish Gymnastics and have a current Scottish Gymnastics wellbeing & protection award before starting to work within your club. If you need any assistance, please contact your club’s safeguarding officer or safeguarding@scottishgymnastics.org.
British Gymnastic Foundation Safeguarding and Safeguarding Children in Gymnastics are not recognised safeguarding awards in Scotland. Please complete a Scottish Gymnastics wellbeing & protection award.
For your level 2 credential to be active and for you to be able to coach in your club, you must also complete the positive coaching eLearning module and the Best Practice in Flexibility Training eLearning modules.
